Gold Pulse is developed by Alexander Waurig. This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.
2. Data We Collect
Push Notification Token — only if you grant notification permission. Your device's APNs token is transmitted to our own backend (see section 4) and to OneSignal, together with your alert sensitivity setting, your app language and the APNs environment. It is used solely to deliver market alerts.
DeviceCheck Token — a per-device token issued by Apple. It is used to check whether this device has already used the free 7-day Pro trial. Apple stores two bits per device for this purpose.
Local Timezone — used locally on your device to display correct market hours, never transmitted.
IP Address — as with any internet request, your IP address is visible to our backend provider (Cloudflare) and to Apple while the app fetches market data or receives notifications. We do not store it.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
No account registration required
No name, email address or postal address
No location data
No financial data or trading activity
No advertising identifiers, no tracking, no analytics
4. Third Party Services
Gold Pulse uses the following external services:
Cloudflare — we operate our own backend on Cloudflare Workers with KV storage. It delivers push notifications, proxies market and calendar data, and verifies trial eligibility.
OneSignal — push notification delivery. OneSignal may collect device identifiers to deliver notifications. See OneSignal's privacy policy at: onesignal.com/privacy-policy
Apple — APNs for notification delivery, DeviceCheck for trial eligibility, and StoreKit for in-app purchases.
Twelve Data — gold price data, requested by our backend.
Fair Economy — economic calendar data (faireconomy.media).
5. Data Storage
Your settings, purchase status and cached price data are stored locally on your device only.
If you enable alerts, one record per device is stored in our Cloudflare KV storage: the APNs token, your alert sensitivity setting, your app language, the APNs environment, and two timestamps (first registration and last contact). This record is deleted when you switch alerts off in the app.
Apple's DeviceCheck bits are stored by Apple, not by us. They persist even if you delete and reinstall the app, and we cannot remove them.
Our backend additionally keeps aggregate counters, such as the total number of notifications sent and the last observed gold price. These contain no user-specific data.
6. Children
Gold Pulse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
